Take Your Next Career Step With TCMS
Tree Care Marketing Solutions isn't your typical digital marketing agency. We're a small, award-winning team (20+ people) that specializes exclusively in growing tree care companies across North America. Our clients are 7- and 8-figure tree service businesses that trust us to handle everything - from custom websites to Google Ads to SEO to email marketing - while they focus on what they do best: caring for trees.
We're fully remote. Our team members work from locations around the world, connected by a shared mission and five core values that define how we operate every single day.
If you're looking for a place where you can do your best work, grow both professionally and personally, and contribute to something meaningful while working with clients who literally make the world greener, TCMS might be exactly what you're looking for.
But here's the truth: we're not for everyone. And that's intentional.
WHO THRIVES AT TCMS
We're building a team of people who share our values and our commitment to excellence. That means we're very selective about who joins us.
You'll Love Working Here If You:
Take Total Ownership of your work.
You hold yourself to the highest standards. You catch your own mistakes before anyone else sees them. You follow through on commitments. You don't need someone looking over your shoulder because you've already looked over your own shoulder three times. When you say something will be done, it gets done on time and done right.
Move Ever Forward in your skills and knowledge.
You're curious. You ask "why" to understand the purpose behind your work, not just the task itself. You stay current with changes in digital marketing and the tree care industry. You measure results, learn from data, and continuously improve your processes. You're never satisfied with "that's how we've always done it."
Champion our clients' success like it's your own business.
You understand that our tree care clients trust us with their livelihoods. You think proactively about what they need, not just what they ask for. You're willing to tell them "no" when something won't serve them well, and you come prepared with better alternatives. You measure success by results, not just activity.
Communicate with Crystal Clear precision.
You respond promptly. You provide complete information the first time. You keep teammates and clients informed. You don't leave people guessing or waiting. You ask questions when something isn't clear, and you make sure others understand you. Poor communication doesn't just frustrate you, it's unacceptable to you.
Believe we're Stronger Together.
You check your ego at the door. You pitch in when teammates need help. You celebrate others' wins. You don't talk negatively about people behind their backs. You bring positive energy and authentic collaboration to everything you do. You understand that our collective success is built on mutual support.
We're not the Right Fit If You:
- Require frequent reminders and close supervision to complete your work
- Struggle to meet deadlines or consistently deliver work with errors
- Are slow to respond (or don't respond) to messages from clients or teammates
- Have difficulty taking ownership of mistakes and making things right
- Resist feedback or struggle to receive constructive criticism professionally
- Engage in gossip, create interpersonal conflict, or bring negativity to the team
- Believe meeting minimum standards is sufficient rather than striving for excellence
- Are seeking a strictly 9-to-5 role with clearly defined limits on your involvement
Our team and clients rely on consistent communication, met deadlines, high-quality work, and mutual respect. If you've struggled with these areas in previous roles, this position likely isn't a good match—our clients and teammates need to count on everyone pulling their weight.
What Makes TCMS Different
We're Industry Specialists, Not Generalists
We only work with tree care companies. That's it. This deep specialization means you'll become an expert in an industry most marketers know nothing about. You'll learn about Certified Arborists, TCIA Accreditation, PHC (Plant Health Care), and why a $5 million tree care company faces completely different challenges than a generic home services business.
Our founder, Monica Hemingway, is a licensed arborist with years of experience running tree care and landscaping companies. This isn't theoretical knowledge, it's practical expertise that informs everything we do.
We Do It All for Our Clients
We're not an agency that creates a strategy doc and hands it off. We're the implementation team. We build the websites. We write the content. We manage the Google Ads. We send the email newsletters. We track the results. We provide ongoing strategic consulting.
Our clients stay with us for years (many for over a decade) because we deliver consistent results and take everything off their plates. That means you'll work on projects from start to finish, seeing the real-world impact of your work on businesses that are growing year after year.
We're Data-Driven and Results-Focused
We don't guess. We measure. Every campaign, every website change, every email blast gets tracked and analyzed. You'll learn to make decisions based on data, not hunches. You'll see exactly how your work contributes to client growth - more leads, more jobs booked, more revenue generated.
We're Building Long-Term Careers
We're not a revolving door. We invest in people who want to grow with us. We provide training, mentorship, and opportunities to expand your skill set. We want you to build a career here, not just collect a paycheck.
What You Can Expect
Work From Anywhere Flexibility
We're fully remote and have been since 2008. We don't care where you are as long as you have fast, reliable internet, a quiet workspace, and the ability to collaborate during set schedule hours (typically based on MST during winter and PST in summer, as we don't follow Daylight Saving Time in Arizona).
Clear Expectations & Accountability
We use project management systems to track every task. You'll always know what's expected, when it's due, and how it fits into the bigger picture. We're not micromanagers, but we do expect you to keep your commitments and communicate proactively if something's going off track.
Meaningful Work
Our clients are professional tree care companies that are literally making the world greener and healthier. They're not trying to sell junk people don't need. They're providing essential services that protect property, improve landscapes, and preserve urban forests. When you help them grow, you're contributing to something that matters.
A Team That Has Your Back
We genuinely care about each other. We help when someone's struggling with a project. We celebrate wins together. We bring our authentic selves to work. There's no corporate BS or political games, just real people doing great work together.
Our Hiring Process
Our hiring process is more thorough than many companies. That's because we want to make sure this is a mutually beneficial relationship where you'll thrive personally and professionally, and contribute to our mission.
1. Submit Your Application, MBTI, and DISC Assessments
We take hiring seriously because the right team member makes all the difference for our clients, our culture, and your success in the role. Our process includes reviewing your application along with Myers-Briggs and DISC assessments to understand how you work, communicate, and collaborate. We're not looking for a specific "type" - we're looking to understand your natural strengths and work style to ensure you'll thrive in our collaborative environment and that we can set you up for success from day one. By understanding who you are and how you work best, we can make a confident decision about whether this is the right mutual fit.
2. SUBMIT A 2 MINUTE INTRO VIDEO
If your application and assessments show strong potential for fit, we'll invite you to submit a brief 2-minute introduction video. This is your opportunity to tell us why you're excited about joining our team and what makes you believe you're the right person for this role. We want to hear your story in your own words and get a sense of your communication style and enthusiasm. It's a quick, authentic way for us to get to know you beyond what's on paper, and for you to show us what makes you uniquely qualified for this position.
3. Assessment
If your introduction video demonstrates you're a strong candidate, the next step is a brief assessment. You'll be asked to respond to questions about how you'd handle real-world situations relevant to the position you're applying for or, for technical roles, you'll be asked to demonstrate your skills with a hands-on task. This helps us understand your problem-solving approach, communication skills, and how you think through challenges that come up in the role. We're looking for clarity, thoughtfulness, and how well your responses and outputs align with how we serve our clients and work as a team. It's a practical way for us to see how you'd approach the actual work you'd be doing here.
4. First Interview: Skills Assessment
If your writing assessment shows you have the right approach and abilities, we'll schedule your first interview with a team member or someone from our leadership team. This conversation focuses on your skills and experience. We'll dive into your expertise, discuss how you've handled relevant challenges in past roles, and explore your technical capabilities for the position. This is our chance to understand what you bring to the table and how your skillset aligns with what this role demands.
5. Second Interview: Culture and Fit
Your final interview will be with the hiring manager, where we shift from skills to working styles and mutual fit. We'll discuss how you work best, what kind of environment helps you thrive, and how you collaborate with teammates and clients. This conversation is just as much about whether we're the right fit for you as it is about whether you're right for us. We want to make sure this role and our team culture align with what you're looking for in your next opportunity.
6. Hiring Decision
If it's a mutual fit, we'll send an offer letter with all the details. If not, we'll provide honest feedback and part ways respectfully. We're looking for long-term team members, so we're thorough in our process.
Current Openings
We're always looking for exceptional people to join the TCMS team. So, even if we don't have any openings at this time, or if none of the current positions are what you're looking for, feel free to get in touch. You never know when the perfect role for you may come up!

You share your thoughts and perspectives proactively, listen attentively, and ensure everyone has clarity. Poor communication directly undermines client retention and is not tolerated.
Stronger Together
You recognize that you cannot succeed alone - you need technical specialists, project managers, and support from Associates to deliver for your clients. You collaborate effectively, celebrate diverse strengths, pitch in when others need help, and maintain a positive team environment. You reject ego and drama, recognizing that your collective success far exceeds what any individual could achieve.
Total Ownership
You take complete ownership of your client accounts and their success. You don't wait for someone to tell you what to do. Instead, you proactively identify issues, develop solutions, and drive results. When challenges arise, you own them and work to resolve them. You see your clients' success as your personal responsibility.
Client Champions
You are a fierce advocate for your clients within TCMS. You ensure their needs are heard, their questions are answered, and their campaigns receive the attention and quality they deserve. You celebrate their wins as your own and work tirelessly to help them succeed. Your clients know you are in their corner.
Ever Forward
You continuously develop your marketing knowledge and client management skills. You ask "why" to understand the purpose behind campaigns and strategies. You look for ways to improve processes, deliver better results, and increase your effectiveness. You stay current with industry trends and best practices, always looking for ways to serve clients better.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a fully remote position working with a distributed team across multiple time zones. Core working hours are 9am-5pm Arizona Time. The role requires daily participation in team video meetings, frequent client calls, and collaboration via Slack, Zoom, and other digital communication tools.

The Content Writer at TCMS is a versatile, multi-disciplinary wordsmith who seamlessly shifts between crafting compelling short-form marketing copy and developing comprehensive long-form educational content. This role demands someone who can write a punchy 100-word Google Business Profile post in the morning and pivot to a thoroughly researched 2,000-word blog article in the afternoon-all while maintaining exceptional quality and SEO effectiveness.
As the voice of our tree care clients' brands, you'll create content that educates, engages, and converts. You're equally comfortable writing persuasive landing page copy that drives conversions and in-depth technical articles that establish authority. You understand that a compelling meta description requires the same level of craft as a comprehensive service page, and you bring excellence to every format.

This role would be a good fit for you if:
… at least a few of these words describe you: thorough, attentive, meticulous, detail-oriented, thoughtful, productive, efficient, flexible, and organized.
Beyond that, we'd love to talk with you if you are:
- Resourceful - You look for solutions instead of focusing on problems, even when you're dealing with something new or unexpected.
- Extremely organized - You have an exceptionally high level of attention to detail and love creating order from chaos, structuring the unstructured, and herding cats.
- Comfortable with constant change - Things change on a dime when it comes to SEO and digital marketing. Need we say more?
- Proactive - You love anticipating what's coming, finding ways to make sure we can deal with it, and getting things done right the first time.
- An SEO rockstar - You understand and implement SEO best practices in your writing without losing sight of the human component. The "Google algorithm" isn't your boss!
- A highly-motivated self-starter - You don't need constant hand-holding - you know what needs to be done and will figure out how to make that happen. You also aren't afraid to ask for help and clarification when needed.
- Great with time management - You're happy taking specific directions and following them, but you also know how to manage your own time, take initiative to fill gaps, and hold yourself accountable for getting your stuff done. Basically, you're good at juggling dozens of balls while also spinning plates and doing cartwheels.
- An excellent communicator - You have excellent (American) English writing skills and are OK with using the Oxford comma!
- A critical thinker and problem-solver - You love investigating and resolving problems. You use your knowledge, available evidence, and logic to find root causes and understand the implications of actions.
- A team player - You're willing to roll up your sleeves and jump in to help team members and get work done. You truly care about people, enjoy being helpful, and want to make a positive difference in the world.
- Mature, stable, and drama-free - Even when things go wrong, you're not easily frazzled. You stay positive and look on the bright side of things.
And if you think trees, plants, and nature are amazing, we'd really like to chat!
This is not for you if:
- You're looking for a temporary position to make some extra money or learn the industry/specific skills so you can start your own thing
- You need to be told what to do or need frequent guidance - we're all helpful and friendly people, but we won't hold your hand
- You're only willing to work 9 to 5 - there aren't many evenings, early mornings, or weekends, but if that's what's required, that's what we do
- You have a set way of doing things and aren't willing to be flexible
- You're uncomfortable with ambiguity and constant change - because every day will bring something new, different, or unexpected
- You don't have a sense of humor - we're not comedians, but it's always good to laugh now and then
- English is not your first language
